Some of the different lures that we used are briefly described here. We have placed them in five catagories, although there are additional categories and many kinds of lures that we do not utilize.

The colours, shapes, sizes and actions will vary on: the area the lure is used (ie: deep or shallow lakes or rivers), the time of year (ie: eary spring, late summer), and the feeding habits of that particular species of fish (ie: smallmouth may be feeding on either minnows or crayfish). Examining the contents of the stomachs of fish that you catch will help determine what kind of lure is useful at the time. |
