Spawning Season of Adult NORTHERN CLINGFISH: Spawning takes place from winter to spring.
Where NORTHERN CLINGFISH Eggs are Found: The eggs of the Northern Clingfish are usually found on the undersides of rocks usually in the intertidal area but sometimes deeper. Males stay nearby and protect the eggs.
Characteristics of Eggs: These eggs are demersal with a diameter of 1.68 - 1.92 mm.
Size of Babies at Hatching: The babies of Northern Clingfish hatch at 3 - 4 mm in length.
Early Movements of NORTHERN CLINGFISH Babies:
The early movements of wild Northern Clingfish are not known. Their babies were caught in small numbers (1 - 2 per 6-minute tow) on the 4th of July, 1971. (Ref. 18).
