Size of Babies at Hatching: These babies hatch at about 5.0 mm in length.

The early movements of Thornback Sculpin babies are unknown. Small numbers ( <5 per 10 min. tow) of baby Thornback Sculpins were captured on 7 January, 1974 scattered throughout the Broken Island Group of islands. (Ref. 18).
