Spawning Season of Adult ENGLISH SOLE: Spawning occurs from January to April.
Where ENGLISH SOLE Eggs are Found: Eggs are adhesive and demersal. They are usually found in protected or sheltered bays.
Characteristics of Eggs: English sole eggs are demersal, no oil globules, 0.8 - 1.05 mm in diameter.

Early Movements of ENGLISH SOLE Babies: Baby English soles hatch and probably move from the shallow bottoms singly but detailed observations are lacking. Baby and juvenile English sole were widespread and captured in numbers from 1 to 9 individuals in 10 min. tows in collections around both the Broken Island Group and Deer Island Group, Barkley Sound. (Ref. 18).
